"If Project" has established in 2007 by Yoko Fukada, an artist, and Midori Igeta, a gender studies scholar, in Tokyo.
They are both ironical idealists or utopians. The two of them have been studying the subjects of art, society, and the environment.
However, "If Project" will be run not by any rigid conception, but rather run by cheerful and flexible ideas for activities.

They have many interesting and stimulating projects covering various genres such as art, social problems, and historical themes.
They are planning to hold some exhibitions, lectures and forums with critical eyes for social problems in Tokyo, Sydney and Asia Pacific areas.

イフプロジェクトは、ようこ・ふかだ（アーティスト）と、いげた･みどり（ジェンダー理論研究者）によって、東京を拠点として、2007年につくられました。
この二人は、どちらも理想家あるいは、「どこにもない場所」＝ユートピアを構想する夢想家を自認し、これまでにアート、社会、環境などを主題とする制作、思考を蓄積してきました。
if projects のif　は「もしも…」「もしかして…かもね」を意味します。ですから、イフプロジェクトは「かもね・企画」ということになります。ということで、イフ企画の活動は、固まった理念ではなく、柔軟で陽気、ちょっといい加減なアイディアでもって運営されるはずです。これからイフ企画は、東京、シドニーそしてアジア太平洋地域を視野に入れ、アートそれ自体、社会また歴史を複眼的な視野をもって問題化するアート・エグズィビジョン、レクチャーやフォーラムを実現していきたいと考えています。
